Do you dread the symptoms and feelings you experience before your monthly menses are due?
Are you angry? Out of control? Weepy or just feeling as if you are going crazy?
PMS or pre-menstrual syndrome affects so many women. Again it is those pesky hormones that rise and fall throughout your monthly cycle.
Symptoms can be feelings of extreme irritability, weeping over the slightest upset, over eating and craving junk food, chocolate and sweets or anything that we would not normally eat if we felt sane! Many women do and say things prior to their monthly period that they later regret. One of my clients said that she would be safer if she was locked in a padded cell for the week prior to her menses!
Suddenly, you are shouting/screaming at your husband or children over the slightest thing and your husband says “You must be pre-menstrual” which makes you even more angry. You feel sometimes that he doesn’t take you seriously and puts it all down to your hormonal state.
Other symptoms that can occur are an increase in pimples, acne, bloating, breast tenderness and weight gain. These are only a few symptoms, there are many more!
These symptoms can start to occur up to 14 days before your next menses are due. Some women experience problems just after their mid-cycle ovulation. Others have symptoms for only a few days but they can be just as severe. Often, once the menses begin, there is a huge emotional and physical relief and normality returns for a while. For other women the symptoms may continue for a few more days during their menses with associated problems of pain, nausea, vomiting, fainting and abnormal bleeding. How to Minimise Pre-Menstrual Symptoms
So, how do I address these problems? During your consultation I will be asking you detailed questions about your symptoms. Each person is quite unique so that your final prescription of Homoeopathic medicine is specifically for you. You will be given instructions about how much medicine to take and how often and I will assess your progress through subsequent follow up consultations.
